TAISCÍ is a Therapeutic Assessment & Intervention Service for Children & Infants. At TAISCÍ, we are a team of clinical psychologists and social workers with extensive experience working with children and families within the NHS, Children's Social Care, and the Family Justice system. Our key interventions include Child Parent Psychotherapy, Circle of Security, Video Interactive Guidance, and narrative work, all aimed at supporting family strengths and relationships, as well as helping families heal and grow after stressful experiences.
CPP treatment aims to help children and parents make sense of, and recover from, trauma, through a range of modalities such as developmental guidance, insight-oriented interpretation and advocacy. The goal of CPP is to support and strengthen the parent–child relationship.
CPP is culturally aware, understanding cultural strengths as a source of protection and wisdom, whilst recognising ongoing and historical oppression and trauma that too many groups have experienced. Speaking the unspeakable and action-orientated practice are principal aspects of CPP that support this work. CPP is based in attachment theory but also integrates psychodynamic, developmental, trauma, social learning and cognitive behavioural theories.
Using the COSP™ model developed by the Circle of Security developers, our trained Facilitators work with parents and care-givers to help them to:
– Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs.
– Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions.
– Enhance the development of their child’s self esteem.
– Honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure.
Based on the principles of life story work, our narrative books are developmentally appropriate and co-produced with caregivers. They are books that explain difficult experiences to very young children, such as why they have come into care, why they might not see a parent, and traumatic events they have witnessed or experienced.
Video Interaction Guidance is an evidence-based strengths-orientated short-term intervention for children and their carers. Video recordings are used to support reflection and develop the parent-child relationship.
TAISCÍ provides high quality training to develop and support skilled practitioners, aiming to build an network of likeminded practitioners and organisations over time.

Our services are usually for families where there a child who is under five years old. However, our collective training means there is some flexibility around this. TAISCÍ works directly with children, parents/carers, and liaises other professionals/teams who are involved, especially Children's Services.
TAISCÍ is based at 10 Windsor Walk, Camberwell, London, SE5 8BB. It is about a ten-minute walk from Denmark Hill rail and Overground station. Sometimes a home visit or contact visit is required as part of assessment. Telephone or video sessions may also be used to support the work.
Payment is usually agreed with the child's local authority and/or via the Adoption Support Fund.
We support children, families, and professionals where there has been trauma, loss, abuse, and/or neglect. We aim to build safety in relationships to support children to thrive.
